Energy Training Overview

A number of people seeking to enter the energy industry have asked us what they need to do to become more marketable to get a job in the industry.  Most of our clients are seeking people with either energy industry job experience or at a minimum some level of training.  To assist those transitioning into the energy industry as well as those who want to change careers within the industry, Skipping Stone has partnered with Enerdynamics to offer online energy training courses. 

Established in 1995, Enerdynamics Corp. is the leading provider of business education services to the gas and electric industry. Through our partnership arrangement, Skipping Stone is able to offer our members discounted online training opportunities. 

It is definitely an employers market out there.  To distinguish yourself from among the many candidates available, job seekers need to demonstrate a level of proficiency in the energy markets.  Our online training programs will give you the basic foundation needed to enable you to get your foot in the door to an exciting new career in the energy industry.  

If you have no energy experience on your resume or if the experience you do have isn’t getting you the job you want, then you should seriously consider our training programs. 

All courses are online, so you can complete the classes on your time.  We offer two courses each in electricity and natural gas, as well as accompanying reference books. 

There are two ways to approach energy training. You can choose to take just one course and you will receive a certificate of completion, which you can add to your resume. Better still is to select the option to receive a certificate of proficiency, which entails taking two courses in either electricity or natural gas as well as getting the accompanying book.

Please read the course and book descriptions included on this site.

After you decide on what you want to take, simply choose "click" on the page. This will take you to the online store where you will choose "training," select the program(s) you want and finish the transaction using your credit card.  You will receive a confirmation email from Skipping Stone. We will notify Enerdynamics and take care of enrolling you.  Enerdynamics will send you a log in and user password for each course you have selected.  You have 45 days to finish the each course. 

At the end of each course is a test.  If you pass the test with at least a 70%, Enerdynamics will notify us that you have successfully completed the course.  You can take the test as many times as you like until you pass it.  Once we receive notice that you passed, we will then issue either a certificate of completion or certificate of proficiency, depending on which program you are in. 

After receiving a certificate, we highly recommend adding it to your resume and then updating that on our site.  Our recruiting software has the ability to sort by a wide variety of criteria, one of which is training.  Having training on your resume will help both you and our recruiters find you a position in the energy industry.
